I studied medicine at the University of Birmingham graduating with honours in 2004. Whilst studying medicine I also undertook an intercalated degree in Medical Sciences graduating with a first class honours degree. I moved to Yorkshire in 2005 and commenced specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

During my training I took some time out of programme to work as a research registrar at the reproductive medicine unit in Leeds, where I looked after couples with subfertility and conducted research alongside my clinical work. I have presented this research at scientific meetings in the UK and Australia; in 2010 won the British Fertility Society Best Young Clinician award.

On returning to the Obstetrics & Gynaecology training programme I focused my attention on developing my skills as a gynaecological surgeon across the breadth of benign gynaecology and developed a passion for gynaecological oncology. I trained in colposcopy and became accredited in 2014, where I was awarded the prize for the highest score in the BSCCP Colposcopy accreditation examinations. I developed skills in advanced laparoscopic gynaecological surgery as part of the BSGE Laparoscopic Training Programme; this was a competitive entry training travelling fellowship during which I was taught by the leading laparoscopic gynaecological surgeons in the UK and Europe.

I obtained my certificate of completion of specialist training in 2015 and was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. My primary interests are in:

  • Colposcopy

  • Gynaecological Oncology

  • Benign Gynaecology

At the York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust I am the Gynaecological Cancer Unit Lead. I have busy general gynaecology, colposcopy, rapid access, and oncology clinics. I have experience and proven track record in diagnosing and treating the full breadth of gynaecological conditions.
